What we offer

About Couch's Corner Berries

The name “Couch’s Corner” has been part of the the community since the early 1880’s. A general store called

JW Couch and Couch Blacksmith shop occupied the corner of what is now New Kent Highway and Poindexter Road, which became referred to as “Couch’s Corner".

The store and blacksmith shop are long gone, but in the early 1970’s, Couch’s Corner came back to life with "Couch’s Corner Florist". It proudly served the community with cut floral arrangements for every occasion and plants from their own greenhouse for almost 20 years.

Then, in 2008, Couch’s Corner was again reborn as "Couch’s Corner Berries". Our goal then, as now, is to provide locally-grown, chemical-free blackberries and blueberries as well as honey from hives throughout our community.

We offer many varieties of blackberries. Although seasons vary year to year due to weather conditions, a typical season is from late May through July.

We offer multiple different varieties of blueberries to allow a longer picking season. Although seasons vary year to year due to weather, a typical season is from late May or early June through late August.

We currently offer traditional Clover and Wildflower Honey. We also offer seasonal honey when available.

Couch’s Corner Berries remains committed to the community, receiving the 2019 New Kent Chamber of Commerce Excellence in Business/Made in New Kent County award.

We actively support Boy Scout Troop 562 in New Kent, and maintain an active presence at local festivals, including Taste of New Kent Wine Festival, West Point Crab Carnival, and Urbana Oyster Festival.

At Christmas time, we offer pre-cut Christmas trees, fresh boxwood wreaths, in-shell pecans, and of course, all of our honeys, jams, jellies, ciders and pickles for gift giving.

Ciders, jams, jellies, pickles and honey are just some of our products which are available on this website or you can come out to the farm to pick fresh berries in season.
